Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Officer to join the team at Australia's largest, family-owned food service distributor.

This role will see you coordinating maintenance activities across the distribution centre and associated locations, ensuring the branch is compliant with legislative and WH&S requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee a repairs and preventative maintenance schedule/program across plant and equipment in a temperature controlled food storage environment
  • Complete minor repairs and maintenance to the facility as required
  • Induct, co-ordinate and overseeing contractors working at the facility for specialist repairs and maintenance
  • Support the site management team by facilitating capital works/major projects
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve site safety and establish best practice through standard operating procedures
  • Complete and submit hazard and incident reporting forms to WH&S team within required time frames and report on any lost time injuries
  • Coordinate and conduct safety audits, assist in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and assist in the implementation of corrective actions where necessary
  • Record keeping and distribution of relevant safety communications including monthly safety packs and company issued safety alerts
  • Coordinate and conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation actions
  • Ensure standard contract management processes are implemented and complied with.

To be successful for this role, you will need the following knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • General knowledge across facilities, maintenance and trades (refrigeration would be advantageous)
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross functionally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to ensure staff understand and operate to the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, WH&S regulations and cold storage principles
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy and experience in using hazard and incident reporting systems
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional disposition
  • Self motivated with the ability to work autonomously
  • Qualification in a relevant trade is advantageous.
